Who we are

Ashland is United (AiU), based in Ashland, MA, is a group of residents and town officials who provide a portal for meaningful conversations across identities, ethnicities, ideological differences, abilities and life experiences. As a sounding board  and an action partner, we are committed to educating and sharing ideas to create deeper understanding of what unites us even as we celebrate our differences.

Stories from our Grandmother's basket

We invite you to gather around – albeit online – and share inspiring stories from your  “Grandmother's Basket.” Socially distant as we are, this project offers an opportunity to stay connected with each other and remind us of the community of which we are all a part.

Our welcoming lawn signs

Our lawn signs spread our message of inclusivity and  help us raise money for more events that bring our community together to learn and connect like our successful "Breaking Bread Together" series. We ask for a donation of $10 but if you can't we'll still be happy to give you a sign. You can pick one up at  Town Hall (Managers Office) or email us and we'll arrange to get you one.

AiU would like to acknowledge that the land we live, work, learn, and organize events on is the original homelands of the Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the the ongoing connection past and present, to this land on which we gather.
